QUESTION: Is it Safe?
ANSWER: You betcha! Since the laser guns only emit a beam of infrared light, there is nothing to harm you. And this is not a contact sport, so there is no special safety equipment to be worn. The main possible ways someone might be harmed while playing is either tripping or running into another player. We work hard to avoid the tripping by scouting out the playing area for any hazards. We avoid the possibility of players running in to each other by laying down a few simple, yet important ground rules prior to playing. But don’t make the mistake of thinking that all this safety gets in the way of the fun. This is absolutely a blast.
QUESTION: Are You Insured?
ANSWER: We are indeed fully insured. For groups requiring a Certificate of Insurance, we can provide that at the time of a booking agreement. Please let us know what insurance needs you will have for your event.
QUESTION: What size space is needed to play?
ANSWER: We can be very flexible with space. An area as little as 40’x80′ can be used, but may result in RVG of CT limiting the number of barriers that get set-up.
QUESTION: Are there age limitations?
ANSWER: Because the game is so safe, players as young as 7 and as old as… well, as old as whoever wants to get out there, may play.
QUESTION: Can you play in the winter?
ANSWER: Absolutely. If the players can handle the cold, we can play the game. Obviously, we do apply common sense when playing in cold weather. If the temperature is too cold or a significant snowfall is expected we may discuss rescheduling with you.
QUESTION: Can you play in the rain?
ANSWER: In certain cases, if the rain is light, we may be able to continue with the event. The equipment can handle this type of weather. The main concerns become safety and enjoyment. A slick playing area may be a safety hazard, and the Game Coach may halt play if he or she feels the players are at risk of injury.
As the event approaches, we will be watching the weather reports, and will be in contact with you if conditions look questionable. Once the Game Coach is on site and set up, we cannot provide a refund due to weather, so we will do our best to avoid this situation.
QUESTION: What are the guns like?
ANSWER: The laser tag guns don’t actually use lasers, but instead use a high power IR system (infrared, similar to your TV’s remote controller) and the sensor with the controller/screen visible to the user.
QUESTION: What are the barriers like?
ANSWER: Depending on the playing area, we will probably add our pop-up barriers. These are commercial grade barriers in a wide range of shapes and sizes. The barriers can be used in sand, on grass, or indoors.
QUESTION: How many games can we play during our event?
ANSWER: The number of games depends on the type of game play and scenarios you choose for your laser tag party. For standard Team Missions and “Mano-a-Mano” games we can usually average 5-6 games per hour. This includes time for instruction and getting the players geared up.Some missions and scenarios can take much longer. During the booking process we will find out from you what your goals are for your event and plan a day that will fulfill those goals.
QUESTION: How many players can play at once?
ANSWER: Depending on the mission or scenario we currently have equipment for 10 players to play laser tag at a time. We can bring extra at an additional cost of $15 per laser gun. Typical games last approximately 6-10 minutes each, so players can rotate in and out as needed to accommodate more participants. For larger groups we can have as many as 20 players on the field, although this requires more space for the playing area.
QUESTION: Do I tip the Game Coach?
ANSWER: The Game Coach is there to ensure that your group is making the most of our high-tech fun. He tutors, inspires and entertains. Tipping for exceptional service is a great idea, but not required. You could also leave a review online as a way to let others know how our service was.
QUESTION: Do I have to pay for the party in advance?
ANSWER: Our reservations go quickly. In order to hold your booking, you must pay online or arrange to drop your payment with us. Otherwise, your date and time is still open to booking by others.
QUESTION: I submitted a Booking Request, but have not seen an e-mail or invoice. Why?
ANSWER: Please check your “Spam” or “Junk” folder in your e-mail program to make sure our response didn’t get sent there. Some e-mail programs read the “video games” in our name as spam. Please be sure to mark our email as “not spam” so our e-mails come to your inbox from now on!
QUESTION: What type of payments do you accept?
ANSWER: We currently accept: Cash, Check, Master Card, Visa, Discover (can be paid online or on day of event) Returned checks or card charges will be charged an additional $50.00 fee.
